Catch Up

Nothing too exciting has been going on, but we have been spending a lot of time up in Centerville with family, and Mike’s mom flew in a few days ago.  My kids are always in heaven when they’re with lots of family :)

Max was REALLY excited to finally get a bat and ball and play outside with dad.

I love seeing Max and Mike play together.  They’re such good buds.  Max adores his dad.  When dad is home, he ignores me a lot and just hangs out around Mike :)

This picture just makes me laugh because it totally looks like he’s warming up.

My little “lefty”.  It’ll be a good thing if he likes baseball :)

My uncle Brent passed away a few weeks ago.  And so a lot of the family was able to travel up to Idaho together.  We had such a good time.  Thank you Grandpa, Mie, and Joe for being such great hosts!  My kids had a ball playing in the country; and Madi found her calling in life.  She now wants to be a farmer.   My mom’s birthday was while we were up there, and so we had a little cake (for breakfast because it was a busy couple days!)

The 4th of July!  How I adore this Holiday.  Always so much fun and the weather was perfect this year!  We headed up to Centerville for the party in the park and fireworks.  Madi had a ball dancing the night away to the music, and thankfully the kids loved the fireworks this year (last year was a different story!)

This is how Max spent the first half of the evening.  He is a little snacker!!  Always looking for something to eat.  Haha

Madi and I made home-made jam yesterday.  She loved helping me make it, and by the time the strawberries were cut up I was just glad there were still some left.  She loved eating them!

Oh and on Sunday we went up to Mike’s grandparents house in SLC for a BBQ.  On the drive home, Madi was really bugged that her feet were dirty.  She kept saying “Mom, I forgot to wash my feet off!”.  So I was just telling her that it was ok and we’d wash them when we got home.  Well, about 10 minutes after that, she tells me, “It’s ok Mom!  I’m washing my feet with my tongue!”.  UGH.  We about died!!  Haha, nasty!

Summertime

I’m so happy it’s warmed up!!!  We had a very long spring, which was nice, but now we’re ready for the pool :)

Madi has been obsessed with my camera lately, and it’s always fun downloading pictures and finding the little gems that she has taken.  Max always smiles for her!

Haha, I love this face Max makes.  It’s his silly face.

We LOVE Strawberry Days around here!  This year Madi was big enough to do one of the “big kid” rides.  She was so brave to go and do it by herself!

IMG_3619

Max’s favorite rides were the roller coasters by far.  He would just laugh and laugh while he was riding.

Madi had her last dance recital with The Pointe.   We’re switching to The Vibe because The Pointe is moving to Highland and that’s just a little too far for us.  She had so much fun doing her Cowgirl Sweetheart dance and also a new dance to “Shake your Groove Thing” (sadly the video for that one didn’t work).  I’m so proud of her.  She’s such a good little dancer and tries so hard to do everything right.  Way to go Madilyn!

Poor Max got really sick for a couple days.  He had a high fever and threw up a couple of times.  He was complaining about pain in his abdomen and I got worried about appendicitis.  So I took him to the doctor and he had like every test under the sun.  It was awful!  He got a catheter, blood work, ultrasound, CT scan (where he got an IV and an enema of contrast).  My poor baby!  He was so sad and anytime they’d try to stick him with anything he’d cry and say “Don’t do that to me, don’t do that to me”.  It was AWFUL. Thankfully everything was ok and he didn’t have to have surgery.  We still aren’t sure what he got; his fever went away for a couple days but then came back.  I’m hoping it’s just Roseola or something.

Anyway, we’ve been having a good summer and we’re excited for July.  My mom and Mike’s mom are coming into town, we’ve got the Fourth of July, and a trip to Jackson Hole with my family.  Oh and I should be getting Lasik in the next couple weeks (I have my consultation today so we’ll see, but I’m hoping it’s soon!).   It’ll be a good July :)

June, already?!

I seriously can’t believe we’re halfway through the year.  I still think it’s spring…maybe because the weather was chilly for awhile.  We had a fun May with my mom in town, Mike’s parents in town, Madi’s end of year preschool program, our anniversary, my birthday, and mother’s day.  May is always a big month around here!

The other day while I was cooking dinner the kids were playing quietly upstairs.  Madi snuck up behind me in the kitchen and totally scared me.  When I turned around, she was dressed like this:

Haha, it totally made me laugh!  I guess she found out where I keep the Halloween costumes :)

A week or so ago was the ward campout.  It was a COLD weekend!  We all went up for the evening and dinner, but Mike and Max stayed the night.  It was so windy that night and I couldn’t sleep because I was so worried about them being cold.  When Kiley and I went up the next morning to meet the guys there,  Mike said it all went great!  They slept good and thankfully they didn’t freeze!

He was SO excited to sleep in the tent and be up there with “the camping boys” as he kept saying :)

Madi with some of her friends at school.  The boy on the left’s name is Landon.  He is so cute!  He was Madi’s very best friend at school all year.  The teachers always told us that they wanted to do everything together.

Madi LOVED going to preschool.  It was sad because on the way home she started crying :(.  She just kept saying, “but I’m going to miss school so much…”.  She’s already excited to go back in the fall to the “big kid school”.  I’ve tried explaining to her that it’s the same school building but the bigger kids class.  Hopefully she gets that so she’s not disappointed!

While I was doing dishes one morning Max made himself a nice little bed on the coffee table.  Oh, and he’s following Elmo’s advice and pointing to his nose.  Good boy!

IMG_3473

Madi is such a girly girl!  I told her I wanted to take a picture of her doing one of the poses from her dance class, but she was sad because she thought her hair wasn’t pretty enough for a picture.  Because it was in a messy bun instead of a “long ponytail”.  Haha, what am I going to do with her when she’s a teenager?!  She’s pretty dramatic, but I love it and wouldn’t have it any other way :)

Here are a couple of videos of songs from her program

Here is a little trick that Madi taught herself.  She was very proud!  It’s a “legs crossed summersault” :)
