Nothing much going on....

But here are a couple of cute pictures!  Oh, by the way, if you think pictures of kids in their underwear are inappropriate, then stop reading :)

Love this boy!  What a sweet face.

Max looked away during this one...but it's still cute of Maddie :)

Maddie's princess outfit in all it's glory!  She was playing in her room for awhile, I guess taking off all her clothes, and then came running out to show me her awesome outfit.  The broom is her staff.  Gotta love the "peace" necklace!  (that was one of the prizes she chose today at the dentist office)

 IMG_0309

So yeah, we went to the dentist today for Madilyn's first time.  My brother is our dentist, so I think it made it a little easier for Maddie.  Andrew just told her he was going to count her teeth and she opened wide (even though she was still shaking like a leaf).

In other news....we leave for our trip to Cancun this Saturday!!!  YAY!  We're so excited.   Hopefully we won't be sick.  Mike hasn't been feeling great, and I feel like I'm getting a cold.  So we'll see.  Either way, it'll be awesome!    Hugs.

Disney on Ice!

Mike and I took Madilyn to Disney on Ice yesterday.  We left Max with Mike's sister so that Maddie could have a special day with mom and dad.  She REALLY loved the show.  I knew she would like it, but she was actually paying attention to everything and following the stories.  We got her her own popcorn and a Sprite and she was in heaven!  Her favorite was Tinkerbell.  She was always very concerned about where Tinkerbell was whenever she went offstage, and she was also feeling like Pluto was left out because he wasn't there.  Anyway, we had tons of fun, and thanks Ash for watching Max!

Honest Scrap

Alright... I was tagged by Kim to tell some honest scrap about myself. Here's the rules:

1. List 10 honest things about yourself--and make it interesting even if you have to dig deep.
2. Pass the award on to 7 bloggers that you feel embody the spirit of Honest Scrap...

1.  I have a weird pinky toenail.  My whole life it's bugged me because I love to have my toenails painted, but I can't really paint that one (except sometimes I paint a fake one :).  I've told Mike I look forward to the Resurrection because then I'll have 10 normal toenails!  Madilyn has never liked me to cut her pinky toenail, and I just realized a couple of weeks ago, it's probably because she's worried it will look like mine!  It's gone down the line for generations; my mom has it, my grandpa, my great grandpa etc.  Madilyn doesn't have it but Max does.  Max won't have to worry much about it though because he won't be painting his toenails!

2.  I sometimes wish I had gone to nursing school.  My mom was a nurse, and so for some reason I didn't want to be one.  I guess I felt like I just didn't want to "copy" her or something.  My favorite subject in school was biology and I really liked genetics too.  But I was too nervous to ever do science or nursing as a major in college.  I didn't feel smart enough.

3.   If I could go anywhere in the word it would be to Switzerland.  I think it is GORGEOUS!!  I would love to ride one of those trains through the mountains and see the little quaint towns.

4.  One of my favorite things in the word to do is to take a hot bath at night and read a book.  I do it almost every night.   Mike is awesome and always tells me to go take a bath while he watches the kids.

5.  I'm in an aerobics class right now that I LOVE.  It makes me feel energized and gets me and kids out in the mornings.

6.  I would love to move to another state.  Kind of just as an adventure.  But I'm torn, because I really like it here too.  I never really thought I would love Pleasant Grove, but I do.   I could see us settling here and raising our kids here.  But I also would like to get out of Utah at least for awhile.  Maybe Texas?  I loved Houston!  SEE, I'm confused!

8.  I love being home with my kids, and it's such a huge blessing!  But I do sometimes wish I had a side job.  Just for a few hours a week.  I know it's cliche, but sometime's I forget that I'm "Emily".  I kind of just feel like "Mom and wife".   I used to work at the Gap and I remember young mom's coming in like once a week and working in the back, and I wondered why they liked to do that?!  Now I get it!  To get out of the house, AND to get the huge discount :)

9.  One thing I really, really hope we're able to do one day is have a cabin.  My grandpa had one when I was growing up in Salmon Idaho, and we always had so much fun there.  We made so many good memories riding motorbikes through the mountains and rafting down the river.   I hope one day when my kids are grown that we have a place to go away to and just spend time together playing cards and having fun.

10.  I really wish I liked to run.  I see so many people out running and lots of them actually enjoying it.  Even when I was younger and in shape I didn't like it.  Running = torture.  Anyway, I envy those who can go out for a long run in the morning and feel so great and energized.  I like other forms of exercise, but unfortunately none of them are as good at burning calories as RUNNING!

I TAG: whoever wants to do it!

What a rough few days!

Mike is SO sick.  Like sicker than I've ever seen him.  I feel so bad for him!  He has Strep throat and has had a high fever, sore throat, body aches...all that stuff for about three days now.  He got on an antibiotic yesterday.  Hopefully it will start to work soon!  So nothing much has been going on.  We're basically holed up.  Maddie and Max both have a lingering cough, and Maddie's poor lip is finally starting to heal.  Hopefully by this weekend we'll be doing better!

Here are a couple pictures from Maddie's birthday after we gave her her presents.  She was SO excited about her bike!  The next morning when we went into the garage to leave for aerobics, she put her hands on her head and said "oh yeah!  I forgot about my new bicycle!  Yay!".

My baby girl is 3!

Happy Birthday Maddie Girl!!!  I can't believe she's already 3.  She's a full blown KID!  It's kind of bittersweet.  She's way excited to have "more candles" today!  We're taking her to get some chinese food for lunch (her FAVORITE) and then we'll just have some cake tonight and let her open her presents from us.  Kind of low key, but it will be a fun day.

Madilyn is such a fun little person to be around.  She's very animated and is always wanting to do something fun.  She loves playing with her friends and she likes to talk on the phone to anyone!  Her dad, my sister, both her grandma's...she loves it.  She likes to sing songs before bedtime and say her own prayers.   Maddie loves her dance class and nursery.  Her favorite movie right now is "Finding Nemo" and she eats cocoa pebbles every morning for breakfast.   She loves her little brother and is VERY protective of him.  She hates it when he's punished.  If I put him in time out she cries the whole time saying "be nice to my max!".   We are so thankful she is in our family.  We love you Maddie girl!

Playing around

These were just a couple of random things from last week. Maddie got a new leotard and wanted to show it off!

And then here's a video of the kids playing a game with Mike. They love watching the Curious George movie, and on the extras there are some games. This is the game where you count bananas. They love it!

These posts were in the wrong order and I am too lazy to change it. But the next post is Maddie's birthday party stuff!

Birthday Party!

Yesterday we had Madilyn's birthday party with our family up at my parents house.  Her actual birthday isn't until tomorrow.  But she's been excited that she gets two birthday celebrations!  She had so much fun with all of her cousins.  She kept being so excited to open presents and blow out her candles on the cake; but then when we'd actually do it she was SO shy!  Anyway, here are some pictures :)

These were before we headed up to Bountiful for the party.  She was WAY excited!  (Ignore the HUGE coldsore on her lip.  The poor girl is plagued with them!  She just got over one on her bottom lip, and then this monster showed up)

THREE!  She's so happy she can actually do it now with her hands.  It's taken some practice, but she got it!

Here's a couple of Max before the party because he can't be left out!  Here's proof that the boy never stops drooling!

She got a few different Ballerina Barbies, a Book, some new dress-up shoes, a Barbie movie, and a Princess Scooter!

Farm Country

Yesterday was a such a nice day (although WINDY!), so some of my friends and I decided to take the kids up to Thanksgiving Point and see the animals.  They had lots of fun running around!

The last time Madilyn rode one of these she was 17 months old.  She wasn't a big fan of it then, but this time she LOVED it!

Max watching Maddie ride the horse.  Poor boy :(.  He was stuck in the stroller the whole time.  Seriously though, if I would have let him out, he would have bolted through some gate and ended up with a bunch of chickens or something.  He is fast!  And crafty.  Next time I'll have to have Mike come with me so we can have some man-to-man defense.  When I go with the kids alone, they outnumber me.

This picture just makes me laugh.  Windy much?!  They look like they're going to get blown away.

IMG_0205

My attempt at a picture of the four of them together.  These girls are so cute.  From left to right it's: Quincee, Avery, Maddie, and Ava.   It's funny because the four of us that went have girls first and then baby boys.

Looking at the massive turkey.  Mmmm, makes me want some thanksgiving dinner!  I love how Madilyn was trying to include Max :)

Party time!

Here are a couple of pictures from Ava's birthday party last week.  Madilyn had a blast!  It was a fairy party and they did lots of fun stuff.   They did "pin the tail on Tinkerbelle's wand", had fairy makeovers, decorated wands, and had a fairy lunch.   We had a fairy good time!  Haha!  I'm a dork.
