Off to the Zoo!

We had such a fun time at the zoo today with a few of our friends.  Maddie hadn’t been to the zoo since she was 1, and Max hadn’t ever been.  So I have been dying to get the kids up there.  I was a little worried because I told Maddie on Saturday night that we were going to be going to the zoo, and the first thing she told me was she didn’t want to go :(.  I was like, “Why?!”, and she said because she was scared of the animals.  I kept trying to get her excited about it and let her know that the animals stay in their cages and stuff.  But she just was not into it.  She finally said, “I know!  I’ll hide in the stroller!”.  Luckily, she woke up today really excited to go and both the kids had a great time!  On our way there my friend asked her what her favorite animal is and she said a “piggy”.  Then on the way home I asked her what her favorite animal that we saw was and she said “The stunks.”.  We saw some monkey’s that she thought look liked skunks.  Guess those were the highlight for her!

Our group that we went with.  From the back there’s Robin and cute baby Kennedi, Mandie holding Mason, Abbie, Avery and then us.

The kids got really excited when the train started moving.  Max kept saying “Choo Choo!!!”

I didn’t get a picture of Kennedi in her stroller!  She’s a doll…so just picture a really cute baby picture of her here!

Checking out the elephants

This elephant statue thing kept making random noises that was scaring the pants off the kids.  It was really funny :)

Playing in the mist-ers!  They felt SO good because it was HOT!  Maddie’s arms got kind of cold :).  But cold is good when you’re about to have heatstroke!

We had a great day at the zoo!  There was hardly anyone there.  I’ve never been to the zoo when it wasn’t crazy busy.  In fact I’ve never even been able to park in the parking lot.  We’ve always had to park up the mountain and walk down and then wait in line to see the animals.  So today was awesome!

Here’s a video from the train:

Best swimming pool ever!

Mandie and I took our kids to this pool in Lindon that was AWESOME!  She and I may have had more fun than our kids.  We kept saying over and over how cool it was.  There was  a great lazy river, a way cool kids pool, and a fun slide.  Good times!!

I know…Max’s tube in kind of girly.  They aren’t selling those tubes anywhere this year!!  Last year they had a way cute blue one, but not this year.  It’s my favorite kind of floaty though, so he’s stuck wearing it :)

This was the funnest game!  The kids all took turns jumping off this ledge over and over.  They did it for probably 20 minutes straight!

Here’s Avery and Maddie going at the same time

And after that picture he wanted to do his signature “Ta-Da!” pose, and stuck his leg up in the air.  Haha, I love when he does that!

Thanks for coming with us Mandie, Avery, and Mason!  We’ll for sure have to do it again soon!!

Lavender Days and Swim Lessons

My friend Mandie and I did the Lavender Days 5K on Saturday.  Although I’m so NOT a runner, it was actually really fun!  I laughed harder than I have in a long time.  Girls days are great :)

Here’s some pictures of the pretty lavender we ran though.  There was a path that went through the fields, and the race just followed that path.  Gorgeous!

Later that day this is how I caught Maddie watching her show.  She’s just munching away on apples enjoying the hamper.

There are from her first day of Swim Lessons.  She was SOOO excited to go.  In this picture I told her to say “Swim Lessons!”  So this is the pose she struck while saying that.  Silly girl.

All the kids were supposed to go line up by their signs.  Most of the kids all lined up single-file looking at the sign.  This is what Maddie did when I told her to go line of by her sign.  She stayed that way until the class started.
