We had so much fun yesterday at my niece Olivia’s Hawaiian themed birthday party!

They had this pool set out and then the big blow-up water slide too.  I like Maddie’s face when she hit the water.  Hehe.  I think it took her breath away.

All in all, we had a great weekend!!  We spent the nights up at my parents’ house and Maddie made her first Build-a-Bear (I’ll post pics of it next time).  Thanks mom and dad for having us up at your house.  And Andrew and Jessica sure know how to throw a party!  It was way fun. 

Lazy Holiday

We’ve had a great Memorial Day today!  It’s always nice for Mike to have a day off.   Earlier in the day we took the kids up to a park by the temple to take some pictures of them.  And after their nap time we headed up to my parents unexpectedly.  We bought a new TV a couple of weeks ago, and my parents told us they really wanted the same one.  So they asked us to go to Best Buy and see if we could get the same deal for them.  We were able to get the deal, so we headed up to Centerville to drop them off their new TV!   Anyway, that’s basically what we’ve done all day.  Nice holiday!

It was so bright and sunny today, which was really pretty!  But hard to take pictures in.  I don’t know how to take pictures in the bright sun!  I kept trying to find shady spots, but these rock stairs were in the sun.  I’ve got to learn how to take pictures on sunny days. 

 

Maddie’s not really smiling in this one, but I love Max’s face.  He’s been doing this a lot lately. 

 

Max found a potato bug!!  He was so excited.  He just sat there and started at it…

 

Then Maddie came to investigate.  Sadly, she ran quickly ran inside, and came back out and squished it with a shoe.  She was very proud of herself. 

This is what Max did when he realized his bug was no longer with us…  He has huge tears welled up in his eyes. 

So SAD!  We had a conversation with Maddie about not killing bugs (unless they’re spiders…I gave her permission to do that).  And she kept saying “I’m so sorry buggy”. 

Oh, how I love his face!  I just want to smother him with kisses.

Poor kids.  They always want to go to the pool.  We really do take them, just not EVERY day! 

Hmmm…

Nothing much new going on around here. Just enjoying the awesome weather!! In some good news...I had been having a really hard time with Maddie over the last couple of weeks. She was just going through a very defiant stage and throwing tantrums all the time. It was really discouraging, and I didn't know how to handle it. Anyway, the last few days she has been an ANGEL! Well, she's always an angel, but you know what I mean :). She has just been such a good girl and is trying really hard to be happy and obey. It's been awesome! I'm proud of her!

Today is Maddie's audition for Combo Company at her ballet school. It's not really an "audition", but she has to go and if there are enough girls her age they'll make a Company for them. It would be so fun! They'd do a couple of competitions, benefit recitals, and just more performing in general. They'd also get to wear cute little sweatsuits with "The Pointe" on the back. I admit, that's one of the things I'm most excited for! Haha! How cute is that?! Little three year olds in matching sweatsuits! Anyway, we'll see. I hope it works. I think she'd have a ton of fun with it.

Max was determined to sit like Mike and I were sitting. Silly kid! He was just hovering over the carpet. He was barely hanging on to the couch.

This is what happened when I asked Maddie to give Max some Fruit Loops. Hehe :). He wasn’t too happy about it! She dumped almost the whole new box on his tray before I grabbed it.

I had asked Maddie what we were having for dinner, and she was being so silly about it. So I asked her again what we were having and got it on tape :) Oh, and she's dressed up in an Angel costume that's 18 months. I'm surprised it's not busting at the seams! It's soooo small on her.

Madilyn’s first Recital!

Maddie had such a fun time at her first recital today. And she did an AWESOME job! We're so proud of her! Maddie was very happy that both her grandma's were there, along with her aunt Marci and cousin's Katelyn and Courtney. She missed her grandpas! Mike's dad is in Qatar and my dad is in Brazil.
