Fun night! (and a little depressing...)

We had a fun time at our neighborhood trunk-or-treat tonight.  Madilyn LOVED Halloween.  The first thing she said when she woke up this morning was "happy halloween!".  And she kept saying "boo" and "trick or treat" randomly throughout the day.  She liked her costume a lot and loved the chopsticks in her hair.  Max didn't really notice anything different about today :).  He just kind of went with the flow!

Oh, so the trick or treating was fun.  But we had literally TWO trick or treaters come to our door.  SAD!  I had so much candy.  And unfortunately, I STILL have so much candy!  Last year we had a lot of trick or treaters come after the trunk or treat, so I thought lots would come tonight.  Nope!  It had started raining a little bit, so maybe that's why.  Anyway, I guess our kids will be getting Halloween candy in their stockings, because we have candy coming out our ears!

My mother-in-law got us these cute outfits from overseas.  Maddie loves Kai-Lan on Nick Jr, so I figured they'd work great for Halloween!  Max looked so funny in his.  It kinda drowned him, so he had a hard time walking in it.  But it was CUTE!

Canyon Pictures

After church we decided to go up the American Fork canyon and take some pictures before all the leaves fall off.  We were in desperate need of a new picture of our kids together, so we dressed them up, and headed up there.  We found a great little trail that went back into the woods a bit, and had a lot of fun!  There were a few times we about had a heart attack, because there was a big ledge with a river at the bottom.  And Maddie just didn't quite understand that she shouldn't be getting close!  Thankfully, the kids were safe, and we got some good pictures.  (I apologize in advance for how many pictures I'm about to post.  I just couldn't choose!).

Cornbellys

We had so much fun at Cornbellys last night (or "jellies" as Madilyn says :).  She loved the jumping pillow and the sandbox of corn.  We thought it would be fun to do the corn maze.  Wow, it took forever.  And about a 1/3 of the way through, we were just following one of the corn cops who was showing us the way out.  I think we would have been lost forever if it weren't for him.

Poor Maddie was walking so slow by the end.  I kept asking if she wanted us to hold her, but she kept going.  I kept telling Mike, that I thought the corn maze would be way fun if you were young and dating.  That way you could just hold hands and flirt the whole way through :).  But with young kids?  Not so much.  But I'm still glad we did it, because we've never been in one!

Anyway, here's some pictures!

Party!

We had so much fun with Max's b-day party last night!  Grandma and Grandpa Nield came and Mike's sister Ashley, her hubby Brian, and their little boy Tyson came.  The kids loved having all the family around!

Ashley and Tyson.  It was fun to see them.  We haven't seen them for awhile because we've kept getting sick!

I can't believe Madilyn is smiling for a family picture.  It's a miracle!  Too bad Max isn't looking :)

Checking out his presents

This is the face he had for much of the evening.  I think he was wondering what on earth was going on.

This is his present from Grandma and Grandpa Murray.  He's waving at them and saying THANKS!  (The present got kinda cut off, but it's a cute little riding toy :)

Loving the balloons.

His face cracks me up here!  I wonder what is going on in his head.  He's looking at me like, "Are you crazy?!  You're gonna put that in front of me?"

First bite.  MMMMM.

Sorry about the mouthful of cake, but Maddie was smiling SO big!  I guess she was very happy about all that sugar.

So we put Max down to bed probably an hour after he ate his cake.  I felt SO bad!  He must have had a major sugar rush, because he seriously laid in bed for 1 1/2 hours just talking and talking.  I went in there a few times, and I'd cuddle him and stuff, and when I walked out he'd still be talking.  I'm just glad he finally went to sleep!  Now he's pooped today :).  Anyway, we had a great time.  And since today is his real birthday, Happy Birthday Max!!!!!!!!!!
