Finally getting better...and some funny pictures!

Thankfully we're all starting to get better!!  We've had a rough January in terms of sickness, so it's nice to be coming out of it!!  Maddie had that mouth disease that I talked about in the last post, and then I got a horrible sore throat and fever, along with the mouth thing she had.  I guess it's way contagious!  It was TERRIBLE!!  I feel so bad that she had it; I was on my pain pills for practically that whole week (and still in lots of pain), and she basically just had Advil.  Poor girl!!  She must have been hurting so bad. 

Anyway, so then Max and Maddie both caught terrible colds and coughs.  I took Max to the doctor for his cough, which ended up being fine, but he did have a double ear infection.  Luckily it seems we caught it quick and it didn't seem to hurt him too bad.  The next week we had to take Maddie for her cough, and they got her on an antibiotic too.  In the midst of this, Mike caught my sore throat, but luckily we called out Dr and they got him on an antibiotic before it was too bad.  So that was the last few weeks for us!!  Max is now cutting two teeth, so he's been kind of fussy, but it hasn't been too bad.  I can't believe he's already getting teeth!  He seems so young.  He's such a big boy though.  I think he's in the 80th percentile in height, weight, and head circumference.  It's hard knowing how fast our kids are growing up. 

Well, I've just decided to post some random pictures that I think are funny.  My kids are great!  Oh and I just realized Maddie's hair is not done in any of these pictures!  I promise I do get my kids dressed and ready for the day (most of the time :) 

Here is Maddie hiding from Grandma and Grandpa Murray who are on the webcam.  It was so weird, she usually loves it, but this time she was terrified!  She curled up next to me on bed and would not budge from being under her "bankie".  She ended up falling asleep there :).

Here's our adorable Max!  He's so fun and smiley now...here's a picture of him talking to me.  He's getting really close to laughing!

And this picture just cracks me up.  He's like, "HEY!  What are you doing?!"  He does such a funny "startled" face.  And he does it A LOT when we're trying to take pictures.  I think it's the flash that gets him!

I don't know why she was so mad about this, but it makes me laugh!  She obviously did NOT like waking up to a camera in her face, so she ended up hiding behind her crib.  Notice the sock on her hand...that is her big thing now. She walks around with her "gloves" on all the time.  She can barely do anything with her hands...but she's determined to keep them on!  Anytime I go to get her after her nap, she's taken her socks off her feet and put them on her hands. 

 

There are Madilyn's cowboy boots that she LOVES!!  She walks around in them all the time.  Here she is dancing in them. 

Ahhh, the jumperoo

Madilyn always loved the jumperoo when she was a baby,  and now Max is getting big enough to join in the fun!  He loves looking at the blue kangaroo in front of him, and although Maddie mostly plays with the toys on it while he's in there, he still enjoys it. 

Poor Madilyn has had a very rough few days :(.  She got Herptic Gingivostomatitis.  Basically she has canker sores all over inside her mouth, her gums are way swollen and painful, and she's got a couple sores on her lips.  She had a fever on Friday night, but she was acting fine so we gave her some Advil and sent her to bed not thinking much of it.  The next day she kept getting crankier and crankier, and so I made an appointment with her Dr.  Right before I went to the Dr. I noticed she had a HUGE canker sore on her bottom lip, and I thought maybe that was the problem.

So then I felt dumb taking her to the Dr. but I didn't dare cancel.  Luckily I didn't, because right when the Dr. took a look at her mouth she knew what it was!  Because we went in within 24 hours of her fever appearing they gave us an antiviral to give her for 7 days.  The Dr said it wouldn't cure it but maybe it would cut down on the severity of the sores and fever.  The Dr. said it's extremely painful and gave us some Tylenol with Codeine for her. 

Anyway, so Maddie was feeling yucky from that and then on Sunday she fell and hit the corner of her eye on our coffee table HARD.  We kept wondering if she needed stiches, but we couldn't get the blood cleaned off enough to see the cut.  So we put her in the bath, and then were able to see that it didn't need stiches, thankfully!  She now she has a bad black eye, a scab by it, and 2 sores on her lips along with a mouth full of sores :(.  Poor girl!  Anyway, hopefully she'll get feeling better soon.  The virus is at it's worse from 3-5 days, and then tapers off until the sores disappear at about 2 weeks. 

Well here are some pictures of Max from the last couple of days.  He's getting big!!  At 2 1/2 months he was 13 lbs 2 oz and 23 1/2 inches long!  Oh and these pictures are before I gave him another haircut yesterday!  Until next time!

 

Christmas Morning!

So Madilyn had a lot of fun on Christmas, but she did seem to kind of get overwhelmed.  We had got her this Rose Petal Cottage that we thought she'd LOVE, but she's kind of not that into it.  I'm hoping she'll grow to like it once she knows kind of how to play pretend.  She got sick of opening presents, but I kind of expected that.  Overall it really was fun, I think she still just may have been a little young to get into the excitement of it all.  I'm sure that will be different next year!

A couple days after Christmas my sisters and I all went to Good Things Utah.  It actually was really fun and they were all way nice.  Here's a picture of us with the Good Things girls! 

Christmas Eve

So we spent Christmas at my parents house, and on Christmas Eve we had the whole family there for dinner and exchanging some presents.  It gets quite chaotic now days as we keep growing!  But it's great :). 

I think this is such a funny picture.  It's Maddie standing in the middle of the action like "whoa".  Cute cute! 

Matching Christmas jammies!  Maddie has her fingers in her mouth ALL the time now. I don't know what that's about!  Hopefully she'll grow out of it soon!

Here is Madilyn doing her new favorite thing...throwing stuff away.  We have to keep an eye on her! Who know what could go missing.

 

I thought this was so cute!  I went in her room to check on her during naptime, and she had fallen asleep with her baby on her tummy.  Awww!  She's big into copying what I do with Max.  Yesterday I was feeding Max and she grabbed her baby and it's bottle and sat right next to me feeding her baby.  She even burped it when I did. 

I LOVE when she puts this shower cap on!  Never fails to crack me up.  She waving to the camera :)

This is one of Max's first smiles that we caught on camera.  He's not smiling as big as he usually does, but it's such a sweet smile!  He's grinning more and more now days.
