St George

Have I mentioned that I adore St. George?  I don’t really know what it is exactly; the warm weather, the palm trees, the quick getaway…but, I love the place!  Mike’s mom was going down this last weekend to look at some land down there and so she let us tag along.  Ashley and Brian went to, so it was a fun little family trip.  We went up Snow Canyon to the sand dunes (SOOO fun, totally recommend it!), and had a great time driving up looking at all the pretty scenery, and taking a little hike up some petrified dunes as well.

This picture kind of make me laugh because it looks like we’re letting our kids just walk out along a huge drop off.  It really wasn’t :)

Poor Max woke up with a HORRIBLE rash after the first night we were there.  It was spreading onto his ears and face, and then on his back and chest.  His neck was so itchy.  This picture doesn’t even look near as bad as it was.  And this was also about 1 1/2 hours after we had given him Benadryl.  So it had calmed down a little bit.  I’m still not totally sure what caused it.  I’m thinking some kind of allergic reaction to something.  Maybe the pool?  He’s always had sensitive skin, but this was the first time he has really broken out in a rash.  So sad :(.  It’s still there today but it’s lost the redness.  Mostly just small bumps now.

Lunch at Bear Paw.  MMMM, it’s a good thing that place is so far away.  If it was close, I would eat there WAY too often!

I looked over and this is how Madi was sitting.  Haha.  Just shootin the breeze I guess!

We had such a GREAT weekend!  Thanks Kaylene and Steve for letting us come!  Lots of fun, family, yummy food, swimming, and games (like Killer Bunnies, totally confusing, but fun :).   Yay for quick getaways!

Easter

We had a great weekend, listening to General Conference and giving the kids their Easter Baskets.  Madi was SO excited to get hers.  It might has well have been Christmas morning.  She was so happy with every little thing in her basket.  It was fun watching her :)

During the afternoon the kids had to get out and run around a little bit.  They were going a little stir crazy after two days of conference.

Mike’s family came over later with his grandparents and we had a nice dinner, lots of chatting, watched Madi do her dance like 20 times, and had the yummiest banana cake ever.  Fun night!

In High Demand

So, I think this Easter Season that these little babies:

cadburyminieggs-sm

have been in high demand.   My mother and sister in law, and I have been looking for them.  I know that they are super popular, and most years I buy some.  But this year I was trying to hold off until Easter, because they’re just so divine that I eat way too many.  Well we haven’t been able to find them for the last couple of weeks ANYWHERE.  Which I thought was weird because they’re super popular and most years there’s tons everywhere.

Well just today I was at Macey’s and as I was checking out I noticed a bad laying on the counter at customer service.  A manager was bagging my groceries so I asked her if they did have some bags, because I didn’t see any in the candy section.  She gave me kind of a funny look (like it was a secret…), and said, “yes we have them, do you want me to get you some?”.  And I said, “oh, where are they?  I couldn’t find them”.  To which she said, “Oh we’re only keeping them in the back.  Whenever we put them out they seem to sell out within seconds, so we just give them to the people who ask for them.”.  HAHA!  I thought that was so weird.  It’s like you need a secret password or something to gain access to the precious Mini Eggs.  Anyway, it just made me laugh.  So if you too are looking for some, check out Maceys!  But I’m sure you’ll have to ask for them by name :)

Moving on, here are some pics of my babies :)

Max LOVES playing the toddler games on my phone.

Today during conference I put up a poster for Madi where she could circle the General Authorities that she heard speaking.  Every time there was a new speaker she’d run over with her marker and start searching.  It was kinda like Where’s Waldo :)

Ok, this was one of the cutest things I’ve ever seen.  I kept hearing Madi saying, “Open wide, say AH” and “I’m dentist Madilyn, let me have a look”.  HAHA!  She told me she was like Uncle Andrew and had become a dentist.  I love that she had her rocking horse laid back with a blanket over him.  She makes me laugh!

Oh, and earlier today I asked Madi what she wanted to be when she grew up.  She said she wants to be a “doctor, a mommy, a princess, and a truck driver”.  LOL!  The truck driver threw me for a loop…she doesn’t really seem the type.  Haha!
