Can I just say how much I LOVE the 4th of July! We had such a GREAT weekend! We headed down to Centerville to stay at my parents house. I got down there early in the day and spent the afternoon at my sister’s house. My kids had tons of fun playing with their cousins and Marci and Trent made way yummy stir-fry for dinner.
Max loved this hat of theirs
And this is like the cutest picture ever! My sweet niece Sadie :)
We headed over to my parents and spent the night. This is Maddie and my parent’s (soon to be ours!) dog Sparky. Maddie seriously loves him. She’s tries really hard to cuddle with him and be gentle. Most of the time he just lays there and lets her be snuggly. When she fell asleep on my parents bed that night, he was laying with her.
On Friday night we went to the Centerville Concert in the Park. It was a total BLAST! They had all these booths and boucy houses set up. And there was a great band playing Beatles and Beach Boys music. By the end of the night we were all up and dancing. It was a total party! Then the night ended with some really good fireworks. I was SO excited for Maddie and Max to see fireworks. Unfortunately Maddie did not like them AT ALL! They scared her to death. The next day the first thing she said when she woke up was “I don’t like those fire stars”. Max liked them though!
Some of my family relaxing…
Between the two of them, these girls had about 1/2 of a watermelon. I was convinced Maddie was going to get sick from eating so much. It’s got to be her FAVORITE food!
I really like this picture of my dad and Maddie
Max was obsessed with this chair that was behind us. It was one of those really low lawn chairs. Yeah, they weren’t ours. But he kept going back and sitting on them. He also stole that drink from my sister in law Jessica. Luckily it was gone so he didn’t pour it all over himself.
Maddie happy about her glow necklace
Anyway, that concert and fireworks was seriously so fun! We’re for sure going to make a tradition out of it!
The next day was parade. Maddie was very excited to see the floats and fire trucks. This is Maddie with her cousin Gracie.
My kids with their little candy pile
This is what we found Maddie doing, the second we walked in the door from the parade.
After the parade we went to my brother Marcus’ house for a BBQ. This is my nephew Kevin driving Max around.
Then the girls got in. They were out of control! It was really funny :) Maddie had no earthly idea how to drive that thing!
Maddie and Gracie dressed up as Princesses. Max really wanted to be in the picture too. It was cute. Gracie kept saying it was a “Princesses and Brother” picture.
Here’s Madilyn going down the waterslide
This video is from this morning on our drive home. Maddie was tickling Max like crazy. By the time I pulled out the camera, he was kind of over it. So he’s not laughing quite as hard as he had been…but it’s still cute. They’re still in their jammies. We basically got out of bed and then on the road.
