More funny pictures....

I don't know why she was so mad about this, but it makes me laugh!  She obviously did NOT like waking up to a camera in her face, so she ended up hiding behind her crib.  Notice the sock on her hand...that is her big thing now. She walks around with her "gloves" on all the time.  She can barely do anything with her hands...but she's determined to keep them on!  Anytime I go to get her after her nap, she's taken her socks off her feet and put them on her hands. 

 

There are Madilyn's cowboy boots that she LOVES!!  She walks around in them all the time.  Here she is dancing in them. 

Ahhh, the jumperoo

Madilyn always loved the jumperoo when she was a baby,  and now Max is getting big enough to join in the fun!  He loves looking at the blue kangaroo in front of him, and although Maddie mostly plays with the toys on it while he's in there, he still enjoys it. 

Poor Madilyn has had a very rough few days :(.  She got Herptic Gingivostomatitis.  Basically she has canker sores all over inside her mouth, her gums are way swollen and painful, and she's got a couple sores on her lips.  She had a fever on Friday night, but she was acting fine so we gave her some Advil and sent her to bed not thinking much of it.  The next day she kept getting crankier and crankier, and so I made an appointment with her Dr.  Right before I went to the Dr. I noticed she had a HUGE canker sore on her bottom lip, and I thought maybe that was the problem.

So then I felt dumb taking her to the Dr. but I didn't dare cancel.  Luckily I didn't, because right when the Dr. took a look at her mouth she knew what it was!  Because we went in within 24 hours of her fever appearing they gave us an antiviral to give her for 7 days.  The Dr said it wouldn't cure it but maybe it would cut down on the severity of the sores and fever.  The Dr. said it's extremely painful and gave us some Tylenol with Codeine for her. 

Anyway, so Maddie was feeling yucky from that and then on Sunday she fell and hit the corner of her eye on our coffee table HARD.  We kept wondering if she needed stiches, but we couldn't get the blood cleaned off enough to see the cut.  So we put her in the bath, and then were able to see that it didn't need stiches, thankfully!  She now she has a bad black eye, a scab by it, and 2 sores on her lips along with a mouth full of sores :(.  Poor girl!  Anyway, hopefully she'll get feeling better soon.  The virus is at it's worse from 3-5 days, and then tapers off until the sores disappear at about 2 weeks. 

Well here are some pictures of Max from the last couple of days.  He's getting big!!  At 2 1/2 months he was 13 lbs 2 oz and 23 1/2 inches long!  Oh and these pictures are before I gave him another haircut yesterday!  Until next time!

 

Christmas Morning!

So Madilyn had a lot of fun on Christmas, but she did seem to kind of get overwhelmed.  We had got her this Rose Petal Cottage that we thought she'd LOVE, but she's kind of not that into it.  I'm hoping she'll grow to like it once she knows kind of how to play pretend.  She got sick of opening presents, but I kind of expected that.  Overall it really was fun, I think she still just may have been a little young to get into the excitement of it all.  I'm sure that will be different next year!

A couple days after Christmas my sisters and I all went to Good Things Utah.  It actually was really fun and they were all way nice.  Here's a picture of us with the Good Things girls! 

Christmas Eve

So we spent Christmas at my parents house, and on Christmas Eve we had the whole family there for dinner and exchanging some presents.  It gets quite chaotic now days as we keep growing!  But it's great :). 

I think this is such a funny picture.  It's Maddie standing in the middle of the action like "whoa".  Cute cute!

I thought this was so cute!  I went in her room to check on her during naptime, and she had fallen asleep with her baby on her tummy.  Awww!  She's big into copying what I do with Max.  Yesterday I was feeding Max and she grabbed her baby and it's bottle and sat right next to me feeding her baby.  She even burped it when I did. 

I LOVE when she puts this shower cap on!  Never fails to crack me up.  She waving to the camera :)

This is one of Max's first smiles that we caught on camera.  He's not smiling as big as he usually does, but it's such a sweet smile!  He's grinning more and more now days. 

Okay, so It's official...I'm not good at blogging!

I swear, it takes me so long to do posts!!  I need to be better at it.  Max is growing like a weed!  He's so big!  He's started smiling a lot which is really fun.  Now I just need to get it on camera.  Mike's parents came out last week unexpectedly for a funeral.  The kids loved having their grandparents here!  It was grandpa Murray's first time to meet Max, so that was fun!  We got Max blessed a few weeks ago, and he did SO good!  He didn't make a peep during it, and he looked dang cute with his dark hair in his white outfit if I do say so myself :)

Oh, we ended up buying a new car a couple of weeks ago!  It's an 2003 Acura MDX, and it is so fun to drive!  I've wanted an SUV for awhile now because of the snow.  And it's started snowing lately, so that's good timing!  Now we just need to sell the civic.  I had worried it would be hard...but I posted it on KSL.com yesterday afternoon, and as of this morning, I think we've already had 10 people call about it and a few are coming today to look, so wish us luck!

Mike and I are going to Glenn Beck tonight.  I'm excited to have a date night out!  And we love Glenn Beck, so it will be fun.  Hopefully the weather won't be too bad.  Mike has been working like crazy on a deadline the last couple days.  He hasn't gotten home till 11:00 on a couple nights, and when he is home he's still basically working.  He had to go in this morning too.  Bummer!  But it's ok, we're just grateful he's got a great job :).  And it's rare that he has to work very much overtime, so I can't complain.  Not much else has been going on.  Here are some pictures over the last few weeks.

I think this picture is so cute.  It's Maddie's cousin's playing with her.  Even though they're older than her, they're so nice to her and play with her lots!  She loves them!!

Happy Halloween!!

This is from last night at our ward's Trunk or Treat. Maddie had a good time, although she was very hesitant about everything. She looked so cute in this ladybug costume that we borrowed from a friend. I was hoping she'd wear the hood part, but after a few pictures, she had had it with that. So I ended up just doing pigtails. Anyway, hope everyone had a fun Halloween!!

Fun, Fun, Fun!

So Maddie LOVES her little brother. She wants to be involved in everything (except holding him which I found out yesterday...). She kisses his binki, "points" to his eyes (more like pokes), and is VERY interested in his diaper changes. I'm having a hard time with some of it because she really wants to be involved and "help", but she doesn't know her own strength! Like yesterday, Max was in his carseat and started to fuss a little, so I started to rock it and of course she wanted to join in. But her "rocking" is more like fast jolts over and over! So then I tell her no and she gets sad like she's in trouble :(. Ughhh, it will be much easier I think when she can understand what I'm saying!!

Max is SUCH a good baby. He only wakes up once a night to eat and is usually right back to sleep within 20 or 30 minutes. He only cries when he's hungry and other than that just likes to look around when he's awake. I was SO nervous about the sleepless nights...and yet we aren't sleep deprived at all! It's such a blessing :)

This was when we tried to get Maddie to hold Max for the first time. This is apparently the only thing she doesn't want to do with Max. After she got a good look at him, she kept trying to scoot away.

I love his little eyes. He tries so hard to focus on stuff, but he has a hard time sometimes. He goes crosseyed and it's so cute!

New Boots and Dancing...

This is Madilyn in her dancing clothes! She loves to play dress up and dance around in it. I LOVE her in this!!



Here are Maddie's new boots that I think are ADORABLE!! Luckily, she loves wearing them too. However, when I took her to my mom's yesterday, her dog Sparky was really trying to get the balls on them, and Maddie did NOT enjoy that!! Haha :)
